UNC Asheville’s Health & Counseling Center

UNC Asheville’s Health & Counseling Center provides whole body health services to support all students and maximize academic success. Our integrated center offers many services. including:

• medical
• mental health
• psychiatric
• health promotion services

These services are led by collaborative medical professionals and staff. The UNC Health & Counseling Center also provides confidential health and counseling services and referring students to appropriate community resources if needed.

All students are welcome to use the Health & Counseling Center where most services are offered free of charge or at a nominal fee. A student’s health insurance does not impact access to these on-campus services.

The Western North Carolina AIDS Project

WNCAP’s mission is to provide equitable access to care and reduce harm from HIV, Hepatitis C, and drug use. Support services include:

• $100 = one trip to a medical appointment for a rural client
• $250 = one week of HIV and Hep C testing supplies
• $1,000 = one month of peer support
• $3,000 = two months of food delivery to homebound clients
• $5,000 = six months of rental assistance for one client
