NC Syringe Services Programs (SSP)
Syringe services programs, or SSPs, distribute sterile syringes and other injection supplies and encourage the secure disposal of used syringes to reduce sharing, reuse and public safety risks.
NC Naloxone (NARCAN®) Access
Naloxone (known by the brand name NARCAN®) is available at many syringe services programs and local health departments across the state at no or low cost. It is also available online or at pharmacies across North Carolina without a prescription.
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
988 offers 24/7 access to trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing mental health related distress. That could be thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress.

NC Domestic Violence Service Providers
Local domestic violence agencies serve all 100 counties across North Carolina. They offer a variety of services, from 24-hour confidential crisis hotlines to emergency shelter to support groups and counseling.

NC 211 – Health & Human Services
NC 211 is a referral service run through the United Way of North Carolina. Use NC 211 to get help with health and human services like:
- Basic Needs (housing, food, utilities, etc.)

- Health Care
- Income Support & Employment
- Mental Health & Substance Use

Al-Anon & Alateen in North Carolina
Al-Anon members are people, just like you, who are worried about someone with a drinking problem.
Alateen is a peer support group for teens who are struggling with the effects of someone else’s problem drinking.
Legal Services in North Carolina
Pisgah Legal Services provides free legal help in non-criminal matters to people who cannot afford a private attorney. Some legal issues handled by Pisgah Legal Services include:

Nar-Anon & Narateen in North Carolina
The Nar-Anon Family Groups are a worldwide fellowship for those affected by someone else’s addiction to narcotics. As a twelve-step program, Nar-Anon offers help by sharing experiences, strength, and hope.
