Henderson County Food and Nutrition Services is a federal food assistance program that provides low-income families the food they need for a nutritionally adequate diet. Benefits are issued via Electronic Benefit Transfer cards (EBT cards).

Fishes and Loaves receives food from a variety of sources to include local grocery stores, local farmers, local churches, community members, and Manna Food Bank in Asheville, NC, and community monetary donations.

Food assistance is available to anyone who seeks help through Calvary Episcopal Food Pantry.
This pantry normally operates on a “neighbor’s choice” model, where neighbors choose from a variety of foods within specific categories. While they try to stock the most popular items, inventory can change depending on what is available from sources. Neighbors are served first-come-first served.
In addition to packaged foods, the Food Pantry also provides fresh produce, eggs, milk, and bread, as well as frozen meat, which is provide roughly 3 1/2 meals worth of food per person per week.

The Storehouse Food Pantry assists anyone with food insecurity- local seniors, singles, and families. The Food and Hygiene Pantry provides an assortment of dry groceries to singles, families, seniors over the age of 60, and those with special needs and circumstances.
Those in need should call or stop by to set up an initial interview. All documents should be brought to a client’s initial interview.

Reach out to Mountain Vista Recovery today for help getting treatment for substance use disorder or addiction today.
The Y brings fresh, healthy food to hundreds of families each month at dozens of locations in a five-county area.
Our (almost daily) mobile food markets are set up like a free farmers market at libraries, churches, doctors’ offices, and other community hubs. We ask no questions and place no limits on the amount of food each person chooses.

The food services at the Hendersonville Rescue Mission are quite unique in that the food is delicious and the entire public is welcome to join for a meal, not just those staying in our living quarters.
The cooks pride themselves on serving a square, hot meal that includes salad, meat and two veggies, as well as dessert, and in the summertime, you may find them outside having a cookout.

St. Pauls Episcopal Community Food Pantry is open on Thursdays from 2-5:30PM. They are located within a shopping area on Chimney Rock Road just outside of Hendersonville, watch for the Marathon gas station. The pantry is located on the end of the shopping strip.
They accept Walk-Ins and provide Neighbor Choice Grocery shopping, Indoor Service, Lifting / Carrying Assistance and TEFAP.

Food justice is an important part of community justice. The Olive Branch takes donations form local businesses and uses them to fight hunger.
Whether a bar of soap, a toothbrush or a can of pork and beans, The Olive Branch has a pantry stocked with basic items that every student and their families may need. These are provided with minimal paperwork and are offered free to homeless students and their families. The Olive Branch also offers a variety of school supplies to students not only once a year, but any time they may need supplies throughout the year.
In the event a student is left out in the cold, we will help with
temporary (typically 1 or 2 nights) housing for students and their families.

East Flat Rock First Baptist Church hosts a monthly food drive through Manna Food Bank. Anyone can receive food from this ministry.
First Baptist Church Food Pantry packs the food boxes ahead of time. This allows them to run the giveaway as a drive through and you never have to leave your car.
Each month, unless specified, arrive by 10:30 a.m., as First Baptist Church will stop serving at 11:30 a.m.
